Tree Care for Midland Homes and Yards
Town lots put big trees close to houses, garages, fences and the neighbour's yard, so much of our work in Midland, Ontario is careful pruning and piece-by-piece removal rather than dropping a tree whole.
We're a tree company based in Tiny Township, a short drive away, and we work in town all year, winter included.
Is It Your Tree or the Town's?
Before any cutting, it's worth knowing whose tree it is. The Town says trees growing on the boulevard are Town-owned, so problems with those go to the Town rather than to a private tree service.
For trees on your own lot, the Town notes that you may need approval before cutting, and properties of one hectare or more also fall under Simcoe County's Forest Conservation By-law. We sort that out before we give you a price.
Midland Tree Removal and Pruning
Ash trees are a common removal call. The Town has already taken down infected ash in Little Lake Park and Tiffin Park, and town staff told MidlandToday that many ash trees are infected. If there's an ash in your yard with a thinning crown or flaking bark, it's worth having it looked at while it's still sound enough to rope down.
Maples and other large shade trees usually just need pruning: deadwood out, limbs lifted off the roof, and the crown thinned so wind passes through.
Branches Over Hydro Lines
Midland's power comes from two utilities, depending on the street: Newmarket-Tay Power serves much of town and Hydro One serves some areas. If a branch is on a wire, call the one on your bill first. Once the line is safe, we'll deal with the tree.

Asked Around Town
Do you work in Midland?+
Yes. Call (249) 559-1372.
Can you prune the boulevard tree in front of my house?+
No. The Town of Midland says trees on the boulevard are Town-owned, so concerns about them go to the Town. We can look after the trees on your side of the property line.
Do I need a permit to take down a tree in my yard?+
Sometimes. The Town says you may need approval before cutting trees on your property, and lots of one hectare or more also fall under Simcoe County's Forest Conservation By-law, so we'll check yours first.
How much does tree work cost in town?+
Typical removals run $200 to $2,000 per tree, averaging about $850 and trims $200 to $800 or more per tree, based on HomeStars' 2026 Canada-wide cost guide. Tight yards and trees over garages sit at the higher end.
Do you work in winter?+
Yes, we work through the winter. With the leaves off it's easier to see what needs cutting, and frozen lawns take less damage from equipment.
